Here’s a blurb: If City of Light was the first of the modern era of the Kingdom Heirs sound (dominated by Dianne Wilkinson songs), then The Journey Home is the last of the more Kingsmen-esque previous era, marked by Squire Parsons songs. This is an excellent quartet music CD, the best songs being the uptempo convention-style numbers.
Knock my socks off: I’ve Passed Over Into Canaanland, More Than I Ever Asked For
Don’t skip that one: I’ll Stand, The Grace Way, Shoutin’ Time, I Love to Tell of His Love
I could honestly do without: Hide and Seek

Here’s a blurb: Something Good was the Mark Trammell Trio’s first project that contained any new songs (three, to be exact). The strongest song, “It’s Jesus,” was the group’s first big hit. The covers are all very well done and show off the terrific vocal blend the trio had even in their early stages. They would only improve as their material improved.
Knock my socks off: It’s Jesus, All Who Call
Don’t skip that one: Because He Is I Am, The Lamb, I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About to Happen, I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary
I could honestly do without: I’m Glad That I Know Jesus

Here’s a blurb: Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver’s most recent entry on this list follows the same formula as most of his albums: hard-driving bluegrass numbers, convention-style singing, and tender country ballads. But this album has something none of his others have had: a big southern gospel radio hit. The title track is, as far as I know, the only bluegrass song to reach #1 on the Singing News chart. It deserves it.
Knock my socks off: Help Is on the Way, He Made It All Right
Don’t skip that one: I Know I Know, One of These Days, Press On O Pilgrim There Is Joy Ahead, Land of the Dying
I could honestly do without: Keep Your Eyes on Jesus (not big on recitations)

Since many of you commented that this signature song of Gold City would be the most important song to judge a new lead vocalist for Gold City, here is a glimpse of new lead, Jerry Pelfrey, belting it out.
For me, “One Scarred Hand” is a more powerful song. I think it’s awesome:
What do you think?

Here’s a blurb: This is the first mainline album released by the Perrys after their configuration change to “three men plus Libbi.” What a tremendous decision that turned out to be, and this project was immediate proof. They also returned to something they hadn’t done in eight years: recording Kyla Rowland songs. There were four excellent Rowland compositions on Changed Forever, and they have recorded from two to five on every major project since.
Knock my socks off: I Rest My Case at the Cross, Waiting Triumphantly
Don’t skip that one: Still Blessed, I Was There When It Happened, When We Hear Him Say Well Done, Changed Forever
I could honestly do without: Love Brought Me Back

Here’s a blurb: The Kingdom Heirs have recorded 27 Dianne Wilkinson songs on their last three major studio albums. That relationship really began on City of Light, which contains five Wilkinson cuts. Because of that, this project sounds much like the ones the quartet is recording today. The album was the seventh out of nine recorded by the Sutton/Rice/French/Bennett lineup, and by the year 2000, they had really formed a solid sound and an expectation of quality.
Knock my socks off: God Made It, That’s Why I Love to Call His Name
Don’t skip that one: We Seek Your Face, He Lifted Me, Common Little Things, Do You Know What It Means, Salvation Is the Miracle to Me
I could honestly do without: Jesus Cares for You
