2008 ~ What a year!

The Edwards Family wrapped up their 2008 schedule last night with a singing at a local church.? We got to see another precious soul accept Jesus Christ and looking back over the past year, we are still blown away by the way that God has blessed and used our little group.

Doors were opened that weren’t even imagined, but the most special blessing to our ministry is the number of people that we’ve seen come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.? If my numbers are correct, we’ve seen over 50 individuals accept Christ and numerous people make things right while we were up singing praises to our most high King.

I do not know what is in store for us in 2009, but it is our prayer that God continues to use our family to advance His Kingdom.? Thanks be unto God for all of his blessings on us and for allowing us to be just a small part of His work.

Christmas Music ~ Southern Gospel Style

Ok, I’ll admit that I’m not much for most SG Christmas music, but Crossroads Music has an excellent selection on their website available for immediate download at fair prices.? They are certainly worth checking out.? I highly recommend the projects by The Isaacs, Mark Bishop & The Kingdom Heirs.? CLICK HERE to visit their Christmas section.

Well, maybe they’re not all gems…but they are mine.? I bought a large lot of CDs from a local retailer to resell and here they are (nothing like a shameless plug for yourself):

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!? Remember to give thanks and honor to God, who? has blessed us so abundantly.? May God richly bless each of you this holiday weekend…and don’t eat too much turkey (if that’s possible!).

What a compliment…

…at least to The Edwards Family.? We did a singing in Greeneville, TN last night at Greystone FWB.? It was a combined Thanksgiving service with 3 churches attending.? God really blessed the singing and we had a wonderful time.? We sang for a little over an hour and it was one of those? special evenings …everything just went so smooth and sweet.

After the service, we were hanging around talking with everyone when someone came up and told us, “your singing took him back 30 years when singing was real….and real good.”? It is so nice when someone gets what we are trying to do….keep it real.? We only use live instruments with some a capella numbers thrown in.? We mix up modern SG with classic and people really seem to enjoy it.? I know we aren’t the best singers and will probably never get a record deal, but that’s not what we are about anyway.? We want to spread the Gospel to a lost and dying world while keeping the tradition of live music going on.? God sent us a wonderful musician several months back and he plays the guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro, bass & a little piano.? He’s a solid utility man that can flat play…it really adds a nice touch to my wife’s piano and my bass.? God is good…

You’ll probably have to watch the clip from this user’s profile page, but if you skip to around the 4 minute part, you can hear a clip of EHSS singing the Oak’s classic, “Elvira”.
