Southern Gospel Reporter is reporting that Anthony will debut his new group, Crossroad, in the coming weeks.? Anthony was the original tenor for Mercy’s Mark, as well as alumni of The Journeymen, The Down East Boys, and Heaven Bound.? Anthony is an excellent tenor, so I assume that he has found vocalists that compliment his talent.? I suppose we’ll have to wait and see (…or hear).

This album is a must have for your Southern Gospel library.? Released in 2000, it’s a greatest hits compilation from the Nelons that include the following tracks:

If the price for this doesn’t go much higher, then you could wind up getting a very good deal on an auction like this.

Legacy 5 and The Triumphant Quartet were the two most nominated groups with 9 nominations each.? Ernie Haase & Signature Sound was next with 7 nominations.

There were? only a few? surprises to me on this years ballot.? Of those that surprised me, I suppose all were deserving except for Josh Singletary.? How many times are you eligible for this award? I suppose if you change groups annually, then you can be nominated for this award until you settle with one group.? I can’t imagine the thought process that went behind putting him on the ballot again this year for this award.

I think Tracy Stuffle is a good bass singer and deserving of the nomination, but I was disappointed that Jeff Chapman didn’t make the list.? I was also disappointed that Kyla Rowland didn’t make the Top 5 this year.? That said, Jim Brady has written several great songs of late, so I don’t have a problem with him making the Top 5 either.?

I thought for sure that Greater Vision would make the Top 5 for Group of the Year, but the Booth Brothers made it instead.? I guess you get used to certain groups being in the top spots that you sometimes overlook groups that have been on the rise.? The Booth Brothers are a talented group and recently, their songs have just been better than what Greater Vision has put out.? Add that to the fact that Bill Gaither has utililized the Booth Brothers for his Homecoming concerts, then I really should not have been surprised by getting a spot in the top 5.?

I don’t know why that I didn’t expect Ernie Haase to make the Top 5 for Male Vocalist, but I didn’t.? I really thought that Eric Bennett would make the Top 5 in this category, but I guess since the Singing News reinstated the Individual awards for Tenor, Lead, Baritone, & Bass, people overlooked him for the Male Vocalist category.? To me, Eric is a stronger vocalist than Ernie.

I’ll not go into detail with you I think will win the awards.? There will be plenty of time for speculation by everyone in the months to come.

Get two CDs by the Mark Trammell Trio at a great price. Journey Thus Far is certainly my favorite project from the MTT thus far….he, he.

Seriously, you can’t beat getting Journey Thus Far AND Once Upon A Cross, MTT’s latest release, for this price. Don’t pass it up!

While? building? my library of SG music, I’ve found that? ebay has been one of the best sources for me to add to my collection.? I often? bypass some of the good deals I come across on ebay so that I can put my money towards projects that I do not own yet.? Thus the idea for the new section of my blog.? The bargains I find that I bypass, I will post for my readers.

Please note that I will check the sellers ratings and I will not post an item if it is from a seller that I would not trust.? Trust me, there’s nothing worse than a seller that is dishonest or less than efficient with their items.
