Sorry for the long hiatus.? My entire family and myself have been battling the flu for more than 1 week now.? We still haven’t fully recovered, but at least we can function now.? Our energy has been zapped, but fortunately I was able to return to work this week.? Last week was the first time that I have ever been put out of work by a doctor.? Wish I could have enjoyed the break a little more…. :-).

FYI…….the area where I live is currently having a major outbreak of the flu and the local school systems have even had to shutdown because of it.? Does that make you want to visit the mountains of NC?!?!?!

Here’s an auction that is pretty interesting (nod to DBM for? sending me the? link).? I know it’s not Southern Gospel, but if we were to pool our resources, could we buy this?

Here is a unique Southern Gospel video with live performances from the Cathedrals, The Kingdom Heirs, The Speer Family, Karen Peck & New River, The Hoppers, The Mullins Family, and Palmetto State.? Hosted by Eve Mae LeFevre, this may be an awesome find on ebay.? I’ll wait until I receive my copy to confirm this, but it would be hard to go wrong with the lineup listed above.

For $20 and free shipping, this was too good for me to pass up.? I hope it is as good as it sounds it should be……….

YouTube.com has apparently become a big resource for Southern Gospel video clips.? Bloggers everywhere are linking to clips found on YouTube and I think it’s a great tool.? I do question the legality of posting live performances on the site, but until the feds put a stop to it, I say enjoy the videos while you can.? Being surrounded by mostly Bluegrassy concerts, it’s nice to see real Southern Gospel concerts online, even if it is in 2-3 minute segments.?

In another year or so after my kids get a little older, my traveling days will resume and I can start attending concerts within a 200-300 mile radius, but until then, YouTube is sure to be an outlet that I will utilize ( especially since the site is no longer blocked where I work…… 🙂 )
