While we were singing last Wednesday night the altar was filled with people. Around 20 people accepted Christ while the Edwards Family was singing under the old gospel tent in Bristol, TN. We are always humbled by the moving of the Holy Spirit and we know that it is nothing we could do within ourselves. Thank you, Lord, for using us to help grow your Kingdom.
To quote The Hinsons & Gold City, “Ain’t That What It’s All About”?
Although I’ve never met this family from Kentucky, I am familiar with Bro. Robin Milby’s father, Bro. Handley Milby. This Family Music Group artist really has turned my ear. They have solid vocals from each singer and with some songs from the pen of Bass vocalist, Robin Milby, this family has a good start in Southern Gospel music. The kids are good singers and in a few years when their voices mature even more, they should be a standout group.
Another thing that really grabbed my attention was the family’s website. It is one of the best looking sites I’ve ever seen for a Southern Gospel group.
The latest release is pictured above. Song list is (* indicates songs penned by Bro. Robin Milby):
….as soon as I post that we have added new dates to our schedule, we have to cancel the very next one due to sickness. Hopefully we can resume our schedule this evening.
Pray for my wife and I as we are both battling some sort of sore throat bug. It’s hard to sing when you feel like you have razor blades in your throat.
We’ve added several dates to our schedule for this week, most notably on Wednesday evening at the Ralph Sexton Crusadein Bristol, TN. If you are coming to the meeting, please come and talk to us. We’d love to meet you.
Many of you may have already updated your version of iTunes, but if you haven’t, you really need to check out the new Genius feature of iTunes 8.0. Basically you “Play a song, click the Genius button, and iTunes creates a playlist of other songs from your library that go great together. Genius playlists help you discover songs in your library you never knew you had — and rediscover forgotten favorites.” ~ Apple.com.
For example, I was playing Brian Free & Assurance’s “Long As I Got King Jesus” and clicked on the Genius icon. Here is the playlist that was produced:

This playlist was awesome! Plus, if you get a really good playlist, you can save it to listen to later.
Granted, most SG songs have no information about them, so the Genius feature won’t work, but for the groups that will work, iTunes cranks out some pretty cool playlists. As more people use the new feature, the playlists should only get better, so all of you SG fans need to start using this so Apple will have more info about our music.
