With Guy present, it is MINISTRY! Without Guy it is just very nice singing.
[...] New Perfect Heart Well, since I cannot find anything newsworthy in the world of southern gospel music to blog about today, I think I’ll post about what I found in my inbox [...]
In TOTAL agreement w/Caroline! Guy has a wonderful voice,
but his singing is about so much more! It’s his spirit
that makes ya love him so much! Sorry, just don’t see
that in the others! Can’t wait for Guy’s new website!
I am looking forward to Guy Penrod’s new solo career. He will do just as well as Steve Green did when he went solo. Guy’s passion for the Lord is clearly evident and genuine. I am still a fan of the GVB, but I am quite interested to see the direction they will go. Marshall Hall was the one of the three greatest voices they ever had. I’m sure he will find success in his future endeavors.
Agree with Caroline, gaithergirl & Lange Gang. I can always depend on Guy to set up a worship environment on a number of songs. I have wept openly & often as my choice of arrangements by him for HIM have taken me into praise for my Lord. In my opinion, Guy Penrod is one of the most honest & humble of men I have been privileged to witness. Even though I do not know him personally, his presence with the GVB & community have presented him well in the Lord’s service. I pray for him daily as well as all who aspire to worship the Lord in spirit & truth. Does anyone know if he has given any interviews? I would love to know what his take is on all of this speculation about him & Marsh Hall. Keep on praisin’ the Lord, y’all \o/
Why did Marshall leave? It didn’t say anything in the homecoming magazine. Were there bitter feelings?
We’ve never heard exactly why Marshall left. Guess they are keeping it private.
The group with Wes, Marsh, Guy and Bill in my opinion was the greatest group GVB has ever had. They ministered to my soul and were creative and original even when singing the traditional GVB music. They were really special not only because of their GREAT singing but they seemed to genuinely love God and each other. Bill has never had a bad or even a so-so singer in the group, but these are each fabulous singers, and they just worked so well together. I found them on youtube recently and listen to them every day….could sit for hours and watch and/or listen, and have and do…nothing to get tired of. They were WONDERFUL, and I’m a little hard to impress.
